Copper will age when exposed to air. You may find that the pen has a slight reddish tint or spots upon arrival, but this does not affect its writing ability. Furthermore, because it is a soft metal, the nib will gradually become more rounded, the writing lines will thicken, and the writing experience will become smoother.
